Trans*women for an international film about a transgender model

Valeska Réon and director Jakob M. Erwa

The traditional roles of the sexes are currently being redefined all over the world. Trans*persons are suddenly visible in the world of fashion, music, film and serial storytelling. The Amazon series “Transparent” received two Golden Globes and five Emmys. Trans*actress Jamie Clayton was a regular in the Netflix series “Sense8“ and Laverne Cox (“Orange Is the New Black”) made it onto the cover of TIME magazine and was nominated for an Emmy. Trans*model Ines Rau became the first Playboy cover girl. Trans*models Andreja Pejic, Carmen Carrera and Lea T. have become the most sought-after models in the fashion world. To name but a few.
„Center of My World“ director Jakob M. Erwa currently prepares an international film about a German transgender model: The adaption of the novel „Flowers for a Chameleon“ by Valeska Réon. The focus of this adaptation is on ‘the search for respect’ and ‘the search for one’s true self.’ The real Valeska is also part of the whole process.

VALESKA will be shot in Germany, Austria, France and Belgium in summer 2019. Casting the film as authentically and real as possible is a main concern for the director and the producers. That’s why they’re auditioning only trans*women for the lead part.

If you are a trans*women between age 17 and 24 and you are interested to star in a film, please don’t hesitate to apply for an audition. Experience in acting and modeling are not required.
